Special Purpose MachinePhilmac’s Automated Assembly Cell

Asytec was contracted by irrigation fittings manufacturer, Philmac who required an Automated Assembly Cell to assemble their various sizes of irrigation fittings.

After consulting with Philmac and providing a concept design layout that would meet their budgetary requirements, we used automation and robotics to design an assembly line with 5 Motoman Robots.

Asytec manufactured and underwent full trials of the assembly cell at our premises. Once complete, the assembly cell was dismantled and relocated at Philmac’s premises where final commissioning and training took place.

Assembly Robot Cell to assemble irrigation fittings at a rate of 5 seconds per end. There are 5 robots and vision systems in the cell which assemble the O-ring, Collet and Nut to various Bodies (Tees, Elbows, End Connectors etc.). The cell is able to assemble fittings from size 16mm to size 63mm and only requires the Body & Nut Robots to have changeover tooling. All other robots and the feeding systems Do Not require any change over tooling.

Futuris Rear Window Seal & Bezel Robot Hot Melt Cell

Robot Cell to apply Hot Melt Glue to various models of VE Rear Window Trim on one side of the robot cell and the Bezel on the other side of the cell. The tooling for the Rear Window Trim is changed over to suit other vehicle models and the robot will run a different glue path.

Asytec Robot SeedPacker – Gantry Robot

Asytec Robot SeedPacker – Gantry Robot2This machine is used by Plant Breeders to obtain the best results for various seed varieties. The Robot SeedPacker is a Gantry Robot used to Pack Seed of various volumes and types into plastic magazines. A series of magazines are laid out in the machine to suit the field the seed will be sowed in.

From an Excel file the machine determines where to place the seed and the volume required into one cell of the plastic magazine whilst continually updating the excel file when the seed is packed.

From this machine the plastic magazines are taken out to the fields and planted with one cell of seed covering approximately a 1m x 5m plot.

Lightforce Spotlight Press

Design & Manufacture a Spotlight Press to press the Lens into the Housing after the components have been assembled. This jig has change over tooling for 2 different spotlight sizes.

Lightforce Genesis Assembly Fixture

Design & Manufacture a Spotlight Assembly Fixture to assist the operator to assemble the Genesis Spotlight. During the assembly process a carriage with the pre-assembled parts enters in under the press system where the fixture assembles the Housing to the Bezel. Whilst in this position the spotlight is powered on and a Vision System from below checks the beam pattern. The carriage then returns back to the operator where the final screws are fastened with the aid of pneumatic screwdrivers.

Futuris VE Front Door Bose Badge Fitment Fixture

Design & Manufacture VE Front Door Bose Badge Fixture to assist the operator fix the Bose Badge. The operator loads the plastic door moulding onto the tooling and then places the Bose Badge into the loading system. The operator then operates a manual handle which mechanically folds the 3 prongs on the underside of the Bose Badge.

Design & Manufacture VE Front Door Insert Trim Alignment Fixture to assist the operator to fix the trim to the plastic moulding. The pre-glued trim is manually placed onto the vacuum tooling where the operator controls the vacuum with their foot on the vacuum pedal. Once the trim is aligned the operator loads the plastic moulding onto the top rotating tooling and then manually pivots the top tooling onto the trim to complete the assembly process.

Futuris Main Line Front Seat Pallet

Design & Manufacture 30 off Main Line Front Seat Pallets which enable the operator to assemble the front seat on the assembly line. This design allows the operator to tilt the seat up to gain access to the underside and also rotate the seat 360 degrees to have access on any face of the seat in its normal seating position or when tilted.
